Ian Butterworth is a professional engineer with over 30 years of experience in automation and control systems and operational technology (OT) cybersecurity. His expertise spans SCADA, DCS, PLC, RTU, and flow measurement systems, integrating diverse technologies across oil and gas, pipelines, and critical infrastructure sectors. Ian currently focuses on cybersecurity for new and legacy control systems, as well as the implementation and support of data acquisition systems. His project experience includes work in North America, the Middle East, South America, and Asia. He is an active participant in the development of industry standards and serves as Vice Chair of APEGA's Investigative Committee, contributing to the professional integrity and oversight of engineering practice.
