Don Bartusiak is President of Collaborative Systems Integration, an Austin-based startup providing systems integration services and software products for Open Process Automation (O-PAS) based systems. In Oct 2020, he retired from ExxonMobil Research and Engineering as Chief Engineer, Process Control. He has 33 years of experience in process control with ExxonMobil, and 7 years of experience in process development research with Bethlehem Steel. At ExxonMobil, he has been a process control application engineer working on artificial intelligence, linear and nonlinear model predictive control, and real-time optimization at facilities in the U.S. and U.K in central engineering offices and in manufacturing. From the mid-1990s, he held supervisory or senior technical positions with responsibility for instrumentation, process analyzers, control systems, and control applications at facilities in Texas and Virginia. From 2000 to 2002, he was Lecturer and Adjunct Professor of Chemical Engineering at Rice University. Don received a B.S. (ChemE) from the University of Pennsylvania and M.S. and Ph.D (ChemE) degrees from Lehigh University. His Professional activities include Former National Director of the Computing and Systems Technology (CAST) Division of the American, Institute of Chemical Engineers (AIChE), Former Process Control Programming Chairman for the Ethylene Producers Committee, Member of the International Federation of Automatic Control (IFAC) Technical Committee 6.1 for Chemical Process Control, Executive Board Member of the International Society of Automation (ISA), Managing Director in the ISA Standards and Practices Board, and Co-chair of the Open Process Automation Forum of The Open Group. Don has published 10 journal articles and is co-inventor on 5 patents."
