Ian Verhappen has been working in all aspects of the automation industry since the 1980’s passing the TUV Functional Safety Engineer exam and has the Certified Automation Professional designation. He is involved in the development of standards including the Canadian Mirror Committee for IEC 61511, serving as a member of ISA’s Standards & Practices Board as well as the ISA-84 Committee. Verhappen is also international chairperson of IEC SC65C Industrial networks with oversight of all the fieldbus protocols.
